MENASHA, Wis. — A Menasha police officer will not face criminal charges in connection with a fatal shooting incident.
The Winnebago County District’s Attorney’s Office finds that Officer Derrick Rotta’s actions on Oct. 7 were justified.
Rotta and other officers were called to the 1100 block of Geneva Road on the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, one officer encountered Kenneth Blevins, who was allegedly brandishing bladed weapons. Rotta then shot Blevins, who died at the scene.
Rotta, who has more than four years of law enforcement experience, will be returning to full duty after being placed on administrative leave.
