GRAND CHUTE, Wis–An employee of the Grand Chute Utilities Department is suing the town’s Human Resources Director. The federal lawsuit filed by Utilities Foreman John Urban claims retaliation from H.R. Director Sue Brinkman following his complaints about pay rates for utilities employees.

Urban alleges that he was threatened by Brinkman with discipline for “insubordination” and was ordered to undergo questioning by Brinkman back in October without an attorney present, and with a Grand Chute police officer in the room. The suit alleges that Urban’s free speech rights were violated, as were his rights to due process. There are no court dates set in the case.
Urban is being represented by Madison attorney Eric Olsen, who is also the lawyer for Grand Chute Town Board Supervisor Ron Wolff in a lawsuit filed against him by fired Town Administrator Jim March.
