APPLETON, Wis. — Mark your calendars for a fun day out with family and friends at the 73rd Appleton Flag Day Parade on Saturday, June 8, 2024, starting at 2:00 p.m.
This year’s parade theme is “Rockin’ in the U.S.A.,” with the American flag leading the way as the Grand Marshal in a salute to freedom and unity.
Continuing its tradition of paying tribute to a branch of our military, this year they will be honoring the men and women of the United States Army.
A staple event in the Fox Cities since 1950, the parade draws a crowd of over 50,000 people, with more than 100,000 others watching the action via WFRV Local 5. It stands as one of the country’s longest-running Flag Day celebrations.
Extending about two miles long and packed with all kinds of music and patriotic entries in the form of floats, vehicles, animals, and more, the parade is sure to be a great time for families and friends in attendance.
The team behind the parade is excited to keep this tradition going, inviting everyone in and around the Fox Cities to join in. They’re looking for creative, collaborative entries featuring all genres of music to bring entertainment as the community gets together to celebrate & salute our flag along the two-mile parade route.
If you are interested in applying for a parade entry, be sure to get those applications in by April 15th here.
