GRAND CHUTE, Wis. — One person is badly hurt following an officer-involved shooting in Grand Chute.
Outagamie County deputies were called to a vehicle crash in the 2800 block of W. Prospect Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.
Upon arrival, they saw an individual with a knife.
One deputy tried using their taser on the suspect but was unsuccessful. Another deputy then fired at and struck the suspect, who was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.
The involved deputies are on administrative leave, which is standard policy.
The state Department of Justice is investigating the incident.
