Davis gets life without possiblity of release in Jacquely Rooney murder

FOND DU LAC, WI — A Fond du Lac man is sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release for the 2022 death of a Fond du Lac County woman. Gary E. Davis was convicted on multiple charges in connection with the stabbing death of Jacquelyn Rooney. He received a life sentence for First Degree Intentional Homcide. Davis was also given 20-years initial confinement and 10-years extended supervision for Mayhem, repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon and ten-years initial confinement and five-years extended supervision for Hiding a Corpse. Those sentences will be served consecutively. Rooney had been stabbed at least 14 times and sustained blunt force trauma to her head.
