MADISON, Wis. — Political buttons, posters, fliers. All items that could be of possible significance for the Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS).
Did you know that members of the WHS travel to events of historical significance to gather and possibly archive in their collection?
The upcoming Republican National Convention will be an example of that.
We welcomed Abbie Norderhaug, State Archivist and Director of Acquisitions for the Wisconsin Historical Society to Focus Fox Valley. She shared more about her role with WHS and what the process looks like when attending historical events. The WHS also planned to attend the Democratic National Convention, before it was moved to a mostly virtual format in 2020.
Abbie also spoke to how they collect items in general, if you have an item you would like to donate, what is the process, and the current items the WHS has in their collection.
