FOND DU LAC, Wis. — A Fond du Lac County sheriff’s K-9 unit that was wounded in a shooting incident is returning to duty.
The department says Iro has graduated from his recertification course and will soon be on full patrol again.
Iro was shot during an exchange of gunfire between Kyle Massie and Deputy Blaine Evans outside a Fond du Lac home back in October of 2023.
Massie died at the scene.
Evans was not hurt and was cleared of any wrongdoing.
