MENASHA, Wis–Menasha Police have a suspect in custody following a report of an armed person near the city’s high school.

Officers were called to the 800-block of Milwaukee Street around 2:30 this (Wednesday) afternoon on the report of a man carrying what appeard to be a rifle in the vicinity of Menasha High.
The man ignored initial demands from officers on the scene to stop and put down the weapon. He eventually complied, and was taken into custody. Menasha High was put on a lockdown as a precaution. No one was hurt.
