MENASHA, Wis. — The Menasha Joint School District will not be purchasing the UW-Oshkosh Fox Cities campus property.
In a news release, district officials say their plan to convert some of the buildings into childcare centers “lacks sufficient support.” The release also cites a desire from the community for more information on the project’s impact on taxpayers and potential costs to the district as reasons for the decision to withdraw from consideration.
The announcement comes a week after Outagamie County’s Property Committee voted to get three appraisals on the site.
County Executive Tom Nelson says the appraisals were necessary…….
Nelson adds that the next step is to sort through other options…….
The UWO Fox Cities campus will shut down at the end of June.
