SHAWANO, Wis. — A Shawano County man who initially claimed his wife took her own life nine years ago is now charged in connection with her death.
James Radford is facing one count of first-degree reckless homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, Radford told investigators that his wife, Sabrina, shot herself in the chest while he tried to disarm her in April of 2016.
An examination of forensic evidence has led prosecutors to believe that Radford himself shot his wife and then tried to make it look like she was holding the gun.
He faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted.
