APPLETON, Wis. — The Appleton Area School District puts a pause on efforts to reinstate a truancy ordinance in the city.
Superintendent Greg Hartjes says they want more time to consult with parents and city officials on how the ordinance would be enforced………….
Hartjes has previously said that the truancy ordinance would be a means of last resort to enforce class attendance and that a “truancy court” would not return.
City officials have agreed to put the request on hold indefinitely.
