TOWN OF EDEN, Wis. — A two-vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County results in the death of one of the drivers.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 2:10 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of County Highway B and County Highway K in the Town of Eden.
The preliminary investigation determined that an SUV driving east on Highway B attempted to turn left on northbound Highway K when it struck a westbound dump truck. The impact sent the SUV into the north ditch.
Despite life-saving measures, the driver of the SUV died from his injuries. He’s identified as a 79-year-old man from Fond du Lac. The dump truck driver, a 67-year-old man from Fond du Lac, was treated for minor injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies say prior to the fatal crash, the dump truck struck a cement truck and entered the south ditch at the intersection of Highway B and Highway K.
The driver of the cement truck was not injured.
