So, how’s your Malbec?
Ok, I get it. I have not done a wine review for months. Time to get after it.
This little number was a very pleasant surprise. An Altos Del Plata Malbec from Argentina was a bottle we opened this week, and what a great drink!
Hey, I totally understand that my fellow Malbec lovers will say what I often say as well: Malbecs can really be hit or miss. Depending on the region, the soil, the vintage…you can get a star or a dud. This one was a smooth, fruit-forward, non-bitter-finish, Malbec! And it was very reasonable–about 10 bucks a bottle! Great just as a smooth sipper or with some ribs or a burger, maybe.
And it was a 2024 vintage, which led us to believe it may not have been ready for prime time. Not the case…it was very ready!
Now, I wish I had bought a case!
