Turkey and Cheese Strata
Ingredients:
- 12 slices bread, crust removed
- 4 cups milk
- 8 eggs
- 1 lb. cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3 cups cooked cubed turkey
- 1 tsp. dried mustard
- 2 tsp. minced onion
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 tsp. salt
Directions: Butter a 9×13 pan. Use 6 slices of bread, crust removed, place in bottom of pan whole. Spread half of the cheese over bread slices. Add the cubed meat and top with remaining bread slices. Beat eggs, milk and spices and pour over top of bread. Dot with the butter. Cover and refrigerate overnight. The next day, add remaining cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Note: You can also add broccoli to this recipe. Just place it over the turkey layer.
