OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. — Oconto County Public Health officials now say the number of measles cases totals 24.
Two of those cases involve hospitalization.
Health officials say that’s an indication that measles are being spread locally.
The first nine cases were reported on Aug. 2 for a single exposure during an out-of-state visit. Five more cases were reported on Aug. 22.
The cases are reportedly in an area of Oconto County that borders Lake Michigan.
