TOWN OF WOLF RIVER, WI — One person dies and another is rescued following an incident Sunday afternoon on Lake Poygan in the Town of Wolf River.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s office was notified of a male in distress, who’d been located in the water by another boater. That person was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
While responding to that call, sheriff’s deputies learned a second male was unaccounted for and believe to still be in the water. Search efforts soon began and the missing male, who was deceased, was located.
That incident is under investigation.
