GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Area School Board of Education accepts East High School’s recommendation to fire head football coach Niko Sila.
That decision came Wednesday after the board heard arguments from an attorney for the district and Sila’s advocate.
The board voted 5-2 in favor of Sila’s dismissal.
The termination was based on allegations of 140 instances of intentional falsification of student attendance records and unauthorized transportation of students in Sila’s personal vehicle.
Now that his contract has been terminated, Sila says he plans to run for school board in the spring.
