OSHKOSH, Wis. — An Oshkosh man found guilty of causing a hit-and-run boat crash on the Fox River is appealing his conviction.
Jason Lindemann was sentenced to five months in jail and three years on probation for second-degree reckless endangerment, failing to render aid at a boat crash and reckless operation of a boat.
Lindemann struck the On the Loos Cruise paddleboat in the Fox on a July night in 2022.
In his appeal, Lindemann claims that his operation of his boat was not reckless and that the trial should have been moved out of Winnebago County due to media coverage of the event.
The state Court of Appeals has not scheduled a hearing on the matter.
