MADISON, Wis–A federal judge dismisses a lawsuit filed by former Grand Chute Town Board member Ron Wolff against members of the state Department of Justice and the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office. Wolff sued the state investigators and deputies that took part in a search of his home in Nichols and properties that he owned in Grand Chute back in March of 2022, alleging that he and his wife were physically manhandled and had their rights violated.
The searches were part of an investigation of Wolff’s residency and eligibility to serve on the Grand Chute Town Board.
The judge in Madison Federal Court dismissed the case, finding the state was justified in conducting its search of the properties and seizing items in those locations and that the actions of the investigators and the deputies were not excessive in force.
