FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Fond du Lac police are investigating a shooting incident that may be related to a dog attack.
Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots in the 200 block of Gillett Street just after 12:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
When officers arrived, they found a 69-year-old man with multiple dog bites. He claimed he fired shots at the animals in order to protect himself.
The man was taken into protective custody.
The owner of the dogs was found, and police say there is no threat to public safety.
