APPLETON, Wis. — An 11-year-old Appleton girl is hailed as a hero for helping to save her mother’s life. Josie Pethan was home sick from school last month when her mother suffered a sudden cardiac emergency.
Pethan called 911 and followed directions on how to conduct CPR on her mother by listening to the dispatcher. First responders were able to restore the mother’s pulse. She was taken to the hospital and survived.
This week, Josie was honored for her efforts by the city of Appleton.
