A powerful blizzard sweeping across Northeast Wisconsin has prompted officials to urge residents to stay off the roads as dangerous conditions continue to worsen across the region.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region is advising motorists to avoid all travel due to life-threatening weather conditions that include heavy snowfall, whiteout visibility, and dangerously high winds.
The advisory impacts 11 counties in Northeast Wisconsin: Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Oconto, Outagamie, Sheboygan, and Winnebago.

Tow bans are in effect for all roadways and highways in the following areas at the time of this post,
- Brown County
- Waupaca County
Outagamie County has closed all county government locations and operations on Monday, March 16, 2026, except for essential services. In-person services across Outagamie County government will be extremely limited or unavailable on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Residents should expect that most county buildings and counters will not be able to support walk-in service.
- All non-essential county departments and services will be closed operations on Monday, March 16, 2026.
- Essential services will continue operating to protect life, safety, and critical county functions.
- Street parking will be allowed
- Parking meters will resume normal operation
