OSHKOSH, Wis. — Winnebago County will have a new sheriff after the November elections.
John Matz announces he is not running for reelection, citing the needs of the sheriff’s office and the next chapter of his personal and professional life.
Matz has been with the agency for 36 years and has served as sheriff for four terms.
He is endorsing Capt. Darin Rice for the position.
