APPLETON, Wis–The former Courtney Woolen Mill in Appleton is back up for sale. The 179-year old former mill along East Water Street was purchased by Lawrence University in August of 2024, after the business inside it closed for good.
At the time, LU said it did not have concrete plans for the building, but was looking at educational and community-oriented uses.

Photos in the online listing show no work has been done to the interior of the building. Lawrence paid $485,000 for the mill two years ago. It is now listed at half-a-million dollars.
We reached out to Lawrence University for comments on the sale, but we received no response.
