(APPLETON, WI.) — One person is arrested after taking down a Pride Flag outside of Outagamie County’s downtown campus in Appleton, dousing it with gasoline and attempting to set it on fire. Outagamie County Criminal Justice personnel quickly took the person into custody and placed them in the Outagamie County Jail.
County Executive Tom Nelson says he was disturbed because the county has taken efforts to be welcoming.
Nelson also says the location of the incident is disturbing.
Nelson says other security precautions are being considered to prevent similar incidents.
