OSHKOSH, Wis–Winnebago and Fond du Lac County law enforcement agencies end their use of Flock Safety license plate reader cameras effective immediately. The Winnebago and Fond du Lac county sheriff’s offices–along with the Neenah, Menasha, Fox Crossing, Winneconne, U-W Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac, Ripon, and Waupun police departments–are turning off their cameras.

The announcement comes after the departments learned that information gathered by their Flock cameras were shared with law enforcement agencies in other states without notification. Cities like Oshkosh and Appleton had earlier announced they were shutting off their Flock cameras and canceling their contracts with the company.
