The DNR is opening state parks for camping today.
People need to preregister online, or by phone, before they show up at a park.
Secretary Preston Cole says park stores are closed right now, so they’ll have to bring food, bug spray and everything else they’ll need.
He says campers also have to bring their own firewood. He urges them to buy it within 10 miles of the park, to prevent the spread of invasive species.
Cole says staff and volunteers will continue to make sure people are following social distancing guidelines.
