A man is going to federal prison for 10 years for walking from Indiana to Neenah to have sex with a teenage girl.
Thirty-three-year-old Tommy Jenkins pleaded guilty to one count of attempted child enticement.
Prosecutors say Jenkins was sending messages to an undercover Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputy, posing as a 14-year-old girl. They say he starting walking from the Indianapolis area to Neenah, and he sent messages along his 350-mile trip, updating his location.
Jenkins was arrested when he made it to Winnebago County.
He was also convicted of state charges of child abuse in 2011. Prosecutors say there were numerous other accusations, over the past eight years, of the sexual abuse of children and others.
Jenkins will spend the rest of his life on probation after he’s released.
