The state Supreme Court is keeping the lame-duck laws passed by Majority Republicans in the Legislature in place.
They stripped power Governor Evers and Attorney General Josh Kaul, just before both Democrats took office.
Republicans blocked Evers from ordering Kaul to withdraw from lawsuits, forced Kaul to get the permission from lawmakers to settle lawsuits, and gave lawmakers the right to get involved with lawsuits without using attorneys from the state justice department.
