A lawmaker from De Pere is worried dairy research in the state won’t be properly funded.
The Dairy Innovation Hub was created earlier this year. It’s supposed to provide nearly $8 million a year for work at UW-Madison, UW-River Falls, and UW-Platteville.
Republican Sen. Andre Jacque understands the state will have to work on a budget repair bill because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He says Governor Evers already called for spending cuts by state agencies. Jacque believes the bulk of them are coming from the UW System.
