The state set a new single-day record for confirmed coronavirus cases, with 978.
That breaks the previous high of 964 from Tuesday. The state has had more than 800 new cases in each of the past five days.
The percentage of tests that came back positive was 7.9 percent. That’s up for the third straight day, and the highest since 10.1 percent last Sunday.
There have now been 41,485 confirmed cases in Wisconsin.
The state is reporting 10 more confirmed deaths, for a total of 843. It’s also the most in a single day since there were 11 on June 27th.
There are 8,663 active cases, and that’s 222 more. That figure has jumped 47 percent in the last 14 days.
Hospitals are treating 315 patients with COVID-19, and that’s 18 fewer than yesterday. Another 159 are waiting for test results.
Brown County has 55 new cases, Outagamie 30, and Winnebago 16.
Fond du Lac and Manitowoc each have nine more. Calumet and Oconto each added eight.
Waupaca has seven new cases. Green Lake and Kewaunee both have two more.
Shawano added one.
