Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say a person trying to pass other cars on Highway 23 caused a five vehicle crash then left the scene.
They say the driver went into the west lane of Highway 23, east of Tower Road and quickly merged back into the east lane to avoid hitting a pickup truck going west. That driver then hit a car in the east lane forcing it into the pickup truck driven by a Sheboygan man. The 66-year-old was then hit by a military-style vehicle. The Sheboygan man has serious injuries. The crash happened in the town of Empire just before 12 p.m. on Saturday.
