The latest round of grants from the local COVID-19 Community Response Fund put the total amount since the start of the pandemic at more than $1 million.
The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities set it up in March.
The foundation’s Tammy Geenen says they’ve also received more than $1.5 million in donations. She says there are a lot of generous people and businesses in the area, but they weren’t sure how quickly the community would respond.
Another $170,000 in grants are going to eight nonprofits. They include $50,000 to Aprcitiy to support substance abuse treatment, $45,000 to N.E.W. Mental Health Connection, and $25,000 to Catalpa Health.
