If people refuse to wear masks inside buildings, they could get a $200 fine.
Ryan Nilsestuen is the governor’s chief legal counsel, and he says it will be up to district attorneys to decide how to handle cases. He says they’re counting on people to make the right decision, and wear a mask.
He hopes if someone isn’t following the rule, local officials try to educate people first.
There are exemptions to the mandate, if people can’t wear a mask because of a health condition or disability.
