The loss of Wisconsin Badgers football this fall is another blow to bars that typically have big crowds for the Saturday games.
Oshkosh-Winnebago County Tavern League President Pat Purtell says it will affect them quite a bit, especially since there have been more prime-time games in recent years.
Purtell says the pandemic is hitting bars hard. He hopes the coronavirus situation gets better, before the weather gets cold and outside seating won’t be available.
Sports bar owners also lost one of their biggest revenue generators of the year, when the NCAA basketball tournament was canceled in March.
The Big Ten Conference officially postponed fall sports today, and there are hopes they could be played in the spring.
