A De Pere city council member will be on the ballot in November for his uncle’s state Senate seat.
Democrat Jonathan Hansen won the 30th District primary over Sandra Ewald, 62 percent to 38 percent. He’ll face Republican Eric Wimberger in November.
Hansen is the nephew of retiring Democratic Sen. Dave Hansen of Green Bay.
Republican Rep. Joan Ballweg of Markesan advanced over Ken Van Dyke, Sr. in the 14th Senate District. She’ll meet Democrat Joni Anderson of Adams in November.
Republican Senator Luther Olsen of Ripon is retiring in the 14th District.
