A man from the Omro area is facing charges in a deadly hit-and-run crash west of Oshkosh.
Winnebago County prosecutors filed one count of hit and run causing death, against 44-year-old Fredrick Muller. They say he thought he hit a deer on Highway E last Wednesday night, and kept driving.
An elderly woman from the nearby Mayberry Manor was killed.
Investigators found Muller, after a firefighter heading to the scene saw a red SUV had pulled over along Highway E, and got the license plate.
Prosecutors say Muller and his wife had been drinking at bars in Oshkosh.
