Wisconsin is trying to join a federal program that provides additional unemployment benefits.
Governor Evers is applying for the Lost Wages Assistance program. People would get $300 dollars a week, and the state would have to pay $100 of it.
The benefits would be retroactive to August 1st. That’s when the $600 a week federal payment expired.
