The revenues from the first year of Outagamie County’s half-cent sales tax could be about $3 million below expectations.
County Board Chair Jeff Nooyen says they had a conservative estimate of $20 million for 2020.
He thinks some counties are in worse shape, because they rely on the revenue for their operating budget. Outagamie County’s sales tax is being used for its capital projects, tax relief, and to help communities.
The county is lowering projections for 2021 to $18 million, as well.
