After more than five months, an Outagamie County Sheriff’s deputy involved in a wrong way crash is charged with a felony.
Deputy Jonathan Cvengros was on his way to work, driving north on Highway 441, when he realized he missed his exit and made a U-turn taking him south in the northbound lane. Witnesses say Michael Nicholson of Appleton tried to avoid the crash but was hit. He lost sight in one eye. Court records say Cvengros wasn’t drunk, impaired or on his phone at the time. He’s been on administrative leave since the crash. Cvengros will make his first court appearance on November 11th.
