The CE Trail is a now a half-mile longer.
Work on the extension, east of Kaukauna High School, is done. Officials celebrated this morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Kaukauna Mayor Tony Penterman says it’s been years in the making. He says it will give people living in subdivisions to the north and south safe access to the school, and other areas along Highway CE.
There are also two new pedestrian crosswalks with flashing lights between the high school and Haas Road.
Penterman says they eventually want to connect to the Fox River Trail, so people can go all the way to Bay Beach in Green Bay.
