Three local governments want to get started on one part of the southern bridge project in the De Pere area next year.
The long-talked about bridge would cross the Fox River on the south side of the city.
Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach says his proposed budget will include $600,000 for the engineering and design of the four-lane road that will connect to I-41.
De Pere and the Town of Ledgeview are picking up the remaining $600,000.
