Grand Chute police officers are wearing a different patch this month to raise awareness about breast cancer.
It’s a pink version of the department’s patch.
Officer Travis Waas believes it’s a good opportunity to talk with people about early detection. He says it was an easy decision, since one of the department’s officers is a breast cancer survivor.
About 500 police agencies around the U.S. are participating in the Pink Patch Project. The Dane County Sheriff’s Department is the only other department in Wisconsin.
