Kids around the Fox Cities will be walking to school today for International Walk to School Day.
Melissa Kraemer Badtke is with the East Central Wisconsin Safe Routes to School Program. She says over 70 schools in the region are participating.
She says some schools will meet with parents at a park to walk together. Some will have local celebrities on hand.
Kraemer Badtke says they hope today’s event encourages kids to walk to school more often. She says parents can even park a few blocks away, and walk with their kids to relieve traffic congestion around schools.
