Chilton Police are warning of a scam that sees the perpetrator come to the victim’s house to collect the cash. A Chilton resident received a call that a family member was in jail and needs to be bailed out. The victim was then transferred to a “law enforcement official” that demanded cash payment. A third suspect reportedly came to the house and collected a large sum of money–telling the victim that there is a “gag order” in effect in the case, and that it is illegal to tell anyone about it. Police say that anyone getting such a call should ignore it.
