Clearwater Paper Corporation closes its production plant in Neenah–effective immediately. The closure puts nearly 300-people out of work. Clearwater ran three tissue machines and ten converting lines at the Neenah plant. Company President Arsen Kitch says the facility cannot compete in the modern paper market. Employees were informed of the closure and were told to take all of their personal items with them–and all doors were then locked. The company’s contract with its union workers expired today (Tuesday). A windown of the plant will take place by July 2nd.
