Likely due to the pandemic, crime decreased in Oshkosh last year. The Police Department’s annual report finds minor crimes fell by 32-percent in 2020–while major crimes increased by four-point-five percent. The highest crime categories were theft, disorderly conduct, and drug offenses. The number of murders in Oshkosh increased from zero in 2019 to four last year. Weapons violations also increased by 40-percent. The vice and narcotics unit recorded 29-percent fewer arrests in 2020.
