The De Pere Fire Department is called in to “rescue” a deer in one of the Fox Locks. The whitetail was spotted in the water at the De Pere lock last Friday. Rather than try to get the deer into a boat, crews just opened a flood gate for the lock and the deer swam out on its own. It should be pointed out that deer are good swimmers.
