Winnebago County Supervisors vote unanimously to send a simple message to Oshkosh Corporation: Build the next generation of U.S. Postal Service delivery trucks in Oshkosh. The board of supervisors passed that resolution Tuesday. Board of Supervisors Vice-Chair Thomas Eagan also says the resolution serves as an invitation to the company.
Eagan also calls it the board’s first step in finding common ground.
Oshkosh Corporation was awarded the $425-million contract to build up to 165,000 delivery trucks last year. The company opted to build the vehicles in Spartanburg, South Carolina because the Oshkosh facilities are not large enough to handle such a big order.
