SHAWANO, Wis–A controversial Shawano County campground owner accused of taking part in a chase with law enforcement is bound over for trial. Ann Retzlaff is charged in Shawano County Court with Fleeing/Eluding an Officer via Vehicle, Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
Retzlaff allegedly led deputies on a chase along Highway 47 in May of last year. Once her vehicle came to a stop, she allegedly said she did nothing wrong–claiming she was a “sovereign citizen.”
Retzlaff’s next court appearance has not yet been set.
